Back from 1991...
I have always like the original Mr. Bean series, plus Rowan Atkinson is a major gear head who, as I know you are all aware, regularly drives, crashes, and repairs his McLaren F1 (ok he dosent regularly crash it, but shit happens).
Well my like for Rowan went up a bit more last night after watching the Christmas episode. I had never noticed before but in one of the funniest skits he is playing with a nativity and he brings in a Dalek toy from Dr. Who.
Well as a Dr. Who fan, and knowing that the Dr. Who refresh wasnt until 2005, and this was filmed in 1991, and written by Rowan Atkinson himself, I am led to believe that Atkinson is a fan of the Dr. Who series as well, and that would be the original Dr. Who from the 70's, which is totally awesome of him.
Also, they use a lot of cool old 80's and 90's cars in the show, as well as Beans original Mini. That is all.

That's a toy version of the Shawcraft Mk. 1 Dalek prop, which came out in the 60s. The 70s Daleks were mostly Shawcraft Mk. 3s starting with the Fourth Doctor, which then got replaced somewhat by the Imperial Daleks during the run of the Seventh Doctor. I'm pretty sure that's a Marx toy you see there - battery powered, and the second Dalek toy overall, which was updated with different colors and variations until well after the series Daleks didn't look like that anymore.

Watch Blackadder , particularly season 3. As funny as Rowan Atkinson is in Mr. Bean, he's way funnier when he has actual dialogue.
